I worship you, O Christ, for you are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. By you all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through you and find their purpose in you. You are before all things, and in you all things hold together. You are the head of the church, the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything you might be preeminent. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in you, and through you to reconcile all things to yourself, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace through the blood you shed on the cross (Colossians 1:15-20).
